How Joshua Lost 87lbs Without Extreme Diets

Joshua’s transformation is one we are incredibly proud of.

He has lost over 87lbs.

And yes, the physical change is huge.

But the bigger win is what happened behind the scenes.

Because Joshua didn’t need another extreme diet.

He didn’t need to train every day.

And he didn’t need to completely overhaul his life.

He needed a clear plan, some structure and the right support around him to help him stay consistent.

Getting Back To Basics

When people have struggled with their weight or fitness for a while, it’s very easy to assume they need to do more.

Train harder.

Eat less.

Cut out certain foods.

Start again every Monday.

Usually, the opposite is true.

With Joshua, we focused on simplifying things.

We looked at what he could realistically do around his work, family and day-to-day life and built the plan around that.

That meant getting back to some very simple foundations.

Regular strength training.

More daily movement.

Better food choices most of the time.

Enough protein.

More structure around meals.

And learning how to manage weekends, meals out and the inevitable weeks where life gets busy.

Nothing particularly exciting.

But it worked because he could actually stick to it.

A Plan That Worked Around His Life

One of the biggest mistakes people make is trying to squeeze themselves into somebody else’s routine.

A training programme might look perfect on paper.

A nutrition plan might be incredibly detailed.

But if it doesn’t work around your actual life, you won’t follow it for very long.

Joshua didn’t need perfection.

He needed a plan he could repeat week after week.

So rather than constantly changing things, we focused on doing the basics well and making small adjustments when needed.

Some weeks were better than others.

That’s completely normal.

The important thing was that one difficult day didn’t turn into a difficult week.

He kept coming back to the plan.

That is where a lot of the progress came from.

Support And Accountability Matter

Knowing what to do is only part of the equation.

Most people already know they probably need to move more, eat better and exercise consistently.

The difficult part is actually doing it for long enough.

That’s where coaching played a huge role for Joshua.

Regular check-ins gave us the opportunity to look at what was working, what wasn’t and where things needed adjusting.

If his progress slowed, we could identify why.

If work or family life became busier, we could adapt the plan.

If motivation dipped, there was still structure and accountability keeping him moving forwards.

You don’t need somebody shouting at you or making you feel guilty.

Good coaching should make the process clearer.

It should help you solve problems.

And it should stop you disappearing for three weeks every time life gets difficult.

Consistently Good Beats Occasionally Great

Joshua’s results didn’t come from a handful of perfect weeks.

They came from stacking up a lot of consistently good ones.

That distinction matters.

You don’t need to eat perfectly seven days a week.

You don’t need every workout to be your best session ever.

You don’t need to turn down every meal out or social occasion.

You need to make enough good decisions, often enough, for long enough.

That sounds simple.

But simple doesn’t always mean easy.

Having a plan, knowing what to focus on and having someone there to keep you accountable makes staying consistent much easier.

The Weight Loss Is Only Part Of The Story

Most dads and parents we work with would love to look leaner, fitter and stronger.

Of course they would.

But that is rarely the only reason they reach out.

They want to run around with their kids without getting completely out of breath.

They want to finish a long day at work and still have some energy left for their family.

They want to feel comfortable in their clothes again.

They want to feel confident.

They want to feel in control of their health rather than constantly worrying about their weight, blood pressure, blood work or where things might be heading.

That is why losing over 87lbs is such a big deal.

The number on the scales is impressive.

But the improvement in quality of life is far more important.

You Probably Don’t Need A More Complicated Plan

If you’ve been trying to get back in shape for months or even years, you might think you need to find the perfect diet or training programme.

You probably don’t.

You may just need to simplify what you’re doing.

Get clear on the basics.

Build a plan around your life.

Stop starting again every Monday.

And put some support and accountability around you so you can finally stay consistent.

That was a huge part of Joshua’s success.

And over time, those relatively simple actions added up to an extraordinary result.

Over 87lbs down.

More importantly, he is fitter, healthier and in a completely different place than when he started.
